The headquarters of the Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) is located in the city of Keelung in northern Taiwan. The Institute is composed of four administrative offices (Secretariat, Accounting, Personnel, and Civil Service Ethics) and four research divisions (Marine Fisheries Division, Aquaculture Division, Seafood Technology Division, Planning and Information Division). The institute monitored the environments of fishing grounds surrounding Taiwan. Data collected by the institute showed that the level of nutrient salts and chlorophyll near the sea surface dramatically increased after a typhoon. Dr. Wei-Cheng Su is the Director, Fisheries Research Institute, Council of Agriculture, Taiwan.
