Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) is a center for training, research and transfer of forest research and its allied fields. It is located Catalan Pre-Pyrenees, Solsona, Spain. It was established as a part of University of Lleida in 1996 as a public entity. It supports the novel technologies and production for the forest sector. Its aim and mission is to modernize and maintain the forest sector, development of rural areas, consistent management of natural environment with the transfer of research, technology and knowledge to the society, post graduate training and education. s This center is well equipped for educational courses and for training, laboratories related to biology, computers, GIS and a big conference room allied with several seminar rooms are there with the center. It is one the advanced applied research center. Being a part of University of Lleida, this research center has a tradition of receiving many masters’ students globally for courses which are related to issues of forestry for a period ranging from few weeks to few months and provides the best facilities for their completion of their course at the center. CTFC holds very good experience in executing lot many projects in various European countries related to forestry. In association with University of Lleida, CTFC has set-up a proposal for the professionalization of market of wood biomass in the Mediterranean and southern Europe countries both from technical and social views through Master of Wood Energy Project. This project lets an opportunity to the students involving them directly in local and national European projects gives them a chance of gaining the best experience in biomass enterprises in various aspects of forest biomass production studies, transport and logistics analysis, pellets and wood chips quality standards and various laboratory works. Even this center in association with the University offers a better platform for interdisciplinary studies that are financially supported by private companies.
