PRODINTEC is a technology center specializing in industrial design and production. Since its foundation in 2004, PRODINTEC aims to boost the competitiveness of industrial companies by applying innovative technologies and methodologies both to their products and to their manufacturing processes and management. PRODINTEC is a private non-profit organization, created on the initiative of a group of Asturian companies and the regional government, and is part of the network of Technological Centers of the Principality of Asturias. Since 27 March 2007, PRODINTEC has been registered as a Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT) by the Ministry of Industry (number 99). Illusion, effort, professionalism all these adjectives define one of the strengths of PRODINTEC: its employees. The wide range of profiles and disciplines that our staff covers allows us to approach with projects and services guarantees of any subject related to the design and industrial production. PRODINTEC encourages the motivation of its employees, continuous training and professional development, its involvement in the achievement of the Foundations global objectives and its identification with the values of PRODINTEC. Currently, PRODINTECs staff is made up of 62 people, including its own staff and fellows from the University of Oviedo. PRODINTEC possesses also strong experience in networking with industrial companies at regional/national/international level. Moreover, the Center is an active member of different European Technology Platforms related to manufacturing such as AM Platform or MANUFUTURE, or to and micro and nano technologies, such as MINAM and NANOfutures. PRODINTEC has wide experience in European research programmes such as H2020, FP, EUREKA, Era-Nets and INTERREG, where it works in close collaboration with industrial partners, research institutes and public administration around Europe. Our roll-to-roll manufacturing pilot line for the production of high-technology products on low cost flexible materials is the result of combining PRODINTEC´s expertise in electronic design, equipment manufacturing and process automation. Currently, we use this line to design tailored products and analyse the feasibility of their mass production. For this, we test different materials and substrates, and develop, manufacture and integrate new roll-to-roll operation modules and quality control systems (visual and inspection). Some types of products where the roll-to-roll production is being implemented are lighting and signing products (LED, OLED, EL...), photovoltaics, electrochemical sensors, microfluidic systems, flexible optical systems, smart labeling, RFID, etc.
