Graphic Era Hill University was established on April 28, 2011 under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 under the aegis of Graphic Era Educational Society, Dehradun. Since its inception the university has been growing at an exponential pace under the able guidance of our excellent leadership and dedicated services of the staff and faculty members. The aim of the university is to impart high quality knowledge and skills over a wide spectrum of professional and technical domains such as engineering, law, management, allied sciences, architecture, humanities, commerce, design and fine arts, and to provide world class training and research facilities, especially to the people hailing from the hills of the state of Uttarakhand. We visualize Graphic Era Hill University as an internationally recognized, inquiry-driven, ethically engaged university with a diverse community, whose members work collaboratively, for the positive transformation of the world by pioneering teaching, research and social awareness. The university has campuses at Dehradun as well as at Bhimtal. All these campuses are designed as self- contained communities with academic and research facilities, laboratories, libraries, administrative offices etc. The mission of Graphic Era Hill University is to promote learning in the true spirit. The University offers the knowledge and skills needed to succeed as professionals, and the values and sensitivity needed to be responsible citizens of the world. Graphic Era Group in an effort to foster innovative progress has introduced Industry Specific B.Tech programmes in association with Tata Technologies to acquire global competence that articulates the knowledge and skilss required for the 21st Century. This initiative between Graphic Era and Tata Technologies was cemented in November 2016 with the MoU signing between Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala, Chancellor- GEU & GEHU and Mr. Anand Bhade, President- Asia Pacific Global Services and Technology Solutions, Tata Technologies. Graphic Era Hill University is ISO 9001: 2008 QMS Certified for imparting Quality Education along with Research Facilities in School of Engineering & Technology, School of Management, School of Business Administration, School of Allied Sciences and School of Humanities. The students are engaged in activities which help them gain confidence and professional etiquettes. Self -study and exploration are also encouraged, with motivating academic staff to support and guide their efforts every step of the way. Apart from these the Online Learning Management System (L.M.S) Moodle has been seamlessly implemented for students and faculty members alike. LMS is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, and reporting of training programs, classroom and online events, e-learning programs, and training content. Graphic Era Hill University has been one of the few universities in India to successfully develop a robust LMS to automate and to encourage self-guided teaching & learning experience. The process of self learning at GEHU is evident in the fact that the University website of GEHU (www.gehu.ac.in) was initially developed by a team of students and faculty members of the university.
