Established in 1983, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (GDUFE) consists of two campuses with a total land area of 152 hectares. The Guangzhou campus is right opposite the Canton Fair, and the Foshan campus is located within the Sanshui Forest Park. GDUFE has developed a multi-disciplinary education system in economics, management, law, humanities, science and engineering. Because of its strong expertise in economics, management and law, GDUFE is now listed as a leading educational provider of high-quality academic and research programs in South China. GDUFE boasts 1,600 teaching and administrative staff, 1,158 are full-time teachers. It has 19 schools with a total enrollment of over 25,000 full-time students; 55 bachelor programs, 33 master programs in Law, Statistics, Applied Economics, Business Administration, Management Science & Engineering and Marxist Theory, and 7 professional master programs in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), Law (LLM), Finance (MF), Insurance (MI), Accounting (MPAcc) and Taxation (MT). GDUFE attaches great importance to the internationalization of education. It has established partnerships with more than 70 universities and educational agencies in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Poland, Japan, etc., as well as in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Currently, 39 multi-level and multi-model programs of joint education are being implemented, which include 17 dual-degree programs, 11 short-term exchange programs, 7 vacation programs and 4 paid internship programs. In addition, different preparatory classes are being offered by the International School of GDUFE. To back up the educational internationalization, GDUFE has been cultivating teams of faculty and managerial staff who are able to perform at international level. Consistently since 2006, GDUFE sends a certain number of teachers abroad as visiting scholars, and in the summer vacation of 2011 and the winter vacation of 2012, two groups of managerial personnel were sent to UK and USA respectively to take part in a higher education management workshop. Moreover, GDUFE is attempting to set up 6 abroad preparing bases in USA, UK, Canada and Australia. The past five years witnessed 82 national-level projects and 376 provincial-level projects as well as 1767 papers published in authoritative and core journals like Social Sciences in China, Science China, Economic Research Journal, Management World and Chinese Journal of Law. 319 of these papers were included in SCI, EI and ISTP. 294 books on various topics were published, including 170 academic monographs. We have been listed in the top one hundred CSSCI sources and ranked 10th among all universities of finance and economics in the Nation and the 6th among all universities in the Guangdong Province. Journal of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics is a source journal of CSSCI, and a core journal of various subjects.
