HKBU-RCEES Joint Institute of Environmental Sciences

HKBU-RCEES has founded in the year 1956, Hong Kong Baptist University is a government funded institution of higher education offering various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Currently about 11,000 students are honoring in various degree programmes which are offered under seven academy/faculties/schools: Arts, Business, Medicine, and Mass communication, Science, Social Sciences and Visual Arts. The Science Faculty is of five departments: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Mathematics. Mutual interaction between the departments is the bigger asset for the university, as these departments will deliver the 16th Symposium on Chemistry Postgraduate Research in Hong Kong was held on 18 April 2009. To proceed and reinforce the shared communication between our Department and optional school understudies, we want to dispatch an exceeding project again this year. The program was propelled in 2011 and in the course of recent years, we have seen the support of many schools to this program. Positive inputs have additionally been gotten from understudies who urge us to proceed with this exceeding address arrangement in the coming new scholastic year. Dr. Mas research project received 1 HK$ million support from the Health and Medical Research fund as a support of inhibitors development for Hepatitis C treatment. A training programme on "Implementing Microscale Chemistry Experiments" was offered to auxiliary science instructors and research facility professionals. It was a Half-day Workshop with aggregate 16 areas. Through addresses and investigations, members learnt the mechanical assembly and systems for actualizing microscale science in school educational modules. Teachers were especially intrigued by securing the information of outlining microscale exercises with various academic methodologies.
