Hubei University of Chinese Medicine previously known as Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, the central part of the Peoples Republic of China. Hebei University of Chinese Medicine was established in 1958. There are 8 undergraduate majors. The University also welcomes post-graduate and PhD candidates. Hubei University of Chinese medicine establishes a strong framework in central China with a point of view on China as well as the world in the half-century’s development. The university is in progress to establish a full spectrum of higher education in Medicine, Science, Engineering, Management and Arts, offering an excellent platform for postgraduate and overseas education. The university consists of 3 secondary schools, 4 affiliated hospitals, 4 State-Level (highest level) Medical Research Centers and 10 Research Institutions. The university has 15 departments, 28 bachelors degree department and 9 professional training department, 28 masters degree department and 16 department for doctor degree; more than 104 clinical practice bases, contains 7 affiliated hospitals, teaching laboratories in State-Level, Province-Level or College-Level. Currently university consists of 18,000 students. Since 1986, the University has trained over 1600 foreign country students from over 30 different countries and regions, has increased the potential to receive about 50 groups of visiting guests per year, and has exchanged and collaborated with more than 50 universities, scholarly institution and companies from over 25 countries. The number of university staff is 1212 people comprises 859 full-time teachers, Professor or Associated Professor are 385, tutors for mastership candidates are 300, for doctorate candidates 40, 11 nationwide famous tutors for Chinese medicine succession, and more than 30 people enjoy Special Allowance issued by State Council and Provincial Government.
