Henri Poincare Institute

IHP or The Henri Poincare Institute could be a mathematics analysis institute a part of UPMC Paris University University, in association with the Centre national First State la exquisite scientifique that is located in Paris, France. The Henri Poincare Institute is one among the oldest and most dynamic international structures dedicated to arithmetic and theoretical physics. the choice of the name of Henri Poincare owes nothing to probability. The Institute continues the tradition of diversity and universalism of that Poincare was a logo. The organization of IHP has regarding twenty five members. There arent any permanent researchers aside from the deputy director and also the director. Since 2009, the director of the organization is man of science Cédric Villani, Fields Medals laureate in 2010. the present deputy director is that the French stargazer Jean-Philippe Uzan. As a showcase for French arithmetic, the Institute co-organises and sponsors varied, scientific and cultural events aimed toward a general public. its shut ties with the associations and societies for the promotion of arithmetic housed in its premises The IHP hosts or sponsors several events designed for the advancement of science through the interaction between scientists: Quarterly thematic programs, organized by a small team at intervals the IHP the Centre fictitious character Borel. theyre coordinated by invited organizers, chosen by the Scientific committee of the IHP on the basis of criteria of scientific excellence and connectedness, in addition as balance between themes. These programs gather French and foreign invited scientists, who ar provided with offices and housing assistance, therefore providing a chance for the French community to complement its experience in new subjects. The CEB encourages the activities associated with physics at intervals mathematical programs and vice-versa, with the aim of accelerating the interchange between these disciplines. A student program, providing high-level complementary courses on numerous topics, instructed by rench and foreign researchers. These courses will happen at the IHP, in alternative institutes like the CIRM or Les Houches, or in French universities, beneath the auspices of IHP that provides logistic and backing. This program starts in 2011 when an attempt amount in 2010. Intensive short collaborations, gathering a bunch of researchers around a standard project. Hosted activities, generally inspired, supported and promoted by the IHP. The Institut Henri Poincaré, last century’s center of mathematics and theoretical physics, is affiliated with UPMC and the CNRS. The IHP is a privileged meeting place for the world of mathematics and theoretical physics and organizes top-level courses, symposia and seminars. It also hosts meetings of major national and international authorities. One of the IHP’s main missions is to organize, in conjunction with the Centre Emile Borel, quarterly or half-yearly programs on topics relating to various aspects of mathematics and theoretical physics. The choice of topics is made by the “IHP Scientific Programming Board”, whose composition and operational rules are defined in the IHP’s statutes as an “école interne”. These programs attract the world’s top specialists in the subject for stays of anywhere from a few days to several weeks. As a venue for national and international mathematical exchanges, the Institute organizes "thematic quarters" (three-month programmes on specific topics), intensive short-time collaborations, high-level PhD training courses, conferences and seminars in mathematics or related fields, such as physics, biology or computer science. Topics are selected by the IHPs Scientific Steering Committee. The IHP welcomes around 11,000 mathematicians each year.
