The Hospital General Universitario de Valencia is a Spanish hospital located in the district of LOlivereta of Valencia, also known as General Hospital. The main objective of this hospital is to get closer to the citizens to have the regular heath guidance, check-ups and to promote campaigns in order to prevent diseases, also helps in detecting the diseases at early stages. It was founded in the sixteenth century and is governed by the General University Hospital Consortium of Valencia. The present governing body and managing director of the hospital is Enrique Ortega González. The health council of the Valencia General Hospital Department is a community participation organisation for the monitoring and consultation of the administration of the Valencian Health System in its regional region. This council is particularly essential since it has population of more than 350,000 people and the mechanisms of participation are of great importance.
