Hubei University of Technology was established in the year 1952 with the name Hubei Academy of Agricultural Machinery which was located in Wuhan which is the the provincial capital of Hubei. As a famous historical and cultural city of China, Wuhan has the biggest college student population among major cities of the world. It became merged with Hubei Institute of Light Industry in the year 1984 to form Hubei Polytechnic Institute. In 2004 it was renamed as Hubei University of Technology. It received the approval in May of 1985 from State Ministry of Education. Hubei University of Technology is a multi-discipline university. The main speciality is Engineering and also covers other fields such as Management, Science, Economics, Liberal Arts, Law and Education. It has whole research, teaching, leisure, sports activities and logistics centers, primary and professional laboratories. HBUT has Light Industry Faculty consists of five schools, with another 13 schools, 60 majors, 18 class-one masters degree accreditation programs, and 75 class-two masters degree accreditation programs. Student admission is available to 31 provinces and directly-managed municipalities of the nation. The college has produced numerous academic journals, along with Hubei Agricultural Machinery, China Mechanical Engineering, Journal of Hubei University of Technology, and others. HBUT has a numerous global interactions and cooperative programss, and has established partnerships with research institutes and universities from extra than 10 countries and regions, inclusive of Germany, America, France, Czech, Finland, Britain, Canada, Kazakhstan, Australia, Taiwan, Italy etc. The college has over 10 worldwide joint education programs with 1,500 enrolled college students.
