The Andalusian Institute of Technology is a Technological Centre of Engineering and Knowledge Management that has been officially recognised by both the Spanish General State Administration and the regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de AndalucÃa). IAT was created in 1989 as a private foundation promoted by the professional Colleges and Associations of Industrial Engineers in Andalusia. IAT has been formally recognised as being of public interest by the Regional Government of Andalusia. Andalusian Institute of Technology specialized in the fields like: Advanced Management Systems; Regional Development-Regional Innovation Systems; Innovation and Creativity; Knowledge Management; People Development; Energy; Environment; Processes; mprovement; Products Improvement; Industrial Design; Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Metrology. IAT has participated in more than 100 R and D and Innovation transnational projects, both as coordinator and as partner, through different schemes such as R and D Framework Programmes, LIFE+, Lifelong Learning Programme, CIP, SUDOE and MED Programme, among others IAT, as a Technology Centre specialised in Engineering and Knowledge Management, performs an important activity in Research and Technological Development (R and D), with two approaches: This activity is performed by following our own R and D Strategic Plan that establishes the following priority research lines: 1. Development of innovation models and strategies. 2. Energy efficiency, renewable energy and environmental sustainability. 3. Development of innovative and sustainable materials, products and technologies. 4. Logistic processes development for intelligent, integrated and sustainable transportation.
