The ICFAI University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand was established under the ICFAI University Act 2003 passed by the Uttaranchal Legislative Assembly. The ICFAI University, Dehradun, is sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (Icfai), a non-profit educational society established in 1984 under the Andhra Pradesh Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 F (Act No.1 of 1350F), with the objective of imparting training in finance and management to students, working executives and professionals in India. The ICFAI University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand is included in the list of universities maintained by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The ICFAI University in Dehradun is Member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London and Member of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The University has received the approval of NCTE. A number of educational programs are offered in management, finance, banking, insurance, accounting, law, information technology, arts, commerce, education and science & technology at bachelorâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s and masterâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s levels on full-time campus and distance learning formats. University also allows private candidates to enroll in various programs if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The University does not provide any courseware, nor conduct any contact classes, nor offer any other support services to private candidates. Such candidates have to prepare for the programs on their own as per the curriculum and are required to attend the examinations, as per the rules and regulations of the University. The University has no study centers/branches outside the State of Uttarakhand. University offers lot of programs like diploma, engineering UG and PG courses, Integrated programs, Doctoral and Distance education programs. The education methodology adopted by the ICFAI University, Dehradun (IUD) encourages independent thinking and helps the students in developing holistic perspectives, strong domain knowledge, contemporary skill-sets and positive attitudes. Students are encouraged to pursue live projects in each of the courses to enhance their learning by applying theoretical concepts to industry situations. This is done under the guidance of experienced faculty for proper focus and implementation. The faculty brings extensive knowledge, professional experience and advanced education to their task. The faculty members have very good academic backgrounds and sound conceptual knowledge in their respective disciplines. The campus has well-stocked with Computing Facilities, library. Students have access to the finest selection of contemporary books and journals which supplement the prescribed reference books and textbooks. The library is augmented with books, periodicals, journals, magazines and other publications on a regular basis. The training and placement wing at the University looks after the training and placement activities on a continuing basis. Staffed by senior professionals and placement executives, the team initiates and maintains the University- Industry dialogue and manages the summer internship program and final placement activities. The team evaluates student performance levels and ensures relevant preparation for their corporate placements. Working both at the supply and demand sides of the placement, the team plays the vital intermediary role of matching academic excellence and industry expectations and counseling the students appropriately. For the development of institutionalized linkages with society and industry, unique Internship Programs are offered. The Faculty Members have been regularly participating in International and national conferences/seminars and showcasing their research publications.
