Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (IISER-TVM) is committed to logical research and science training of worldwide standard. Customarily, instructing has been isolated from research in undergraduate science educational curriculum in our nation. IISERs were built up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. IISER-TVM began working in August 2008. The foundation expects to give top quality training in present day science, incorporating it with remarkable research at the undergraduate level itself, and build up a soul of research cutting crosswise over controls. The faculty members are devoted towards research in areas of fundamental sciences, with a high level of self-governance and creativity.

The campus is situated in the Computer Science building of the College of Engineering, Trivandrum. Permanent campus of 200 sections of land is under development at Vithura, at the foothills of the Ponmudi slopes, around 40km from Thiruvananthapuram, and an arrangement of structures got initiated by January 2016 and the classes will be academically. The site for the grounds is honored with rich greenery, three streams, a waterway going through it and a stupendous mountain background. This quiet and serene condition in the lap of the Western Ghats will be perfect for research and instructing.
