Indian Institute of Soil Science

Introduction:
The Indian institute of Soil Science (ICAR-IISS) was established on 16th April, 1988 at Bhopal with a motto of “Enhancing Soil Productivity with Minimum Environmental Degradation”. IISS has risen as a pioneer in fundamental and key research on soils in the nation. It has made huge progress in the ranges of coordinated supplement administration, effect on soil under long-term cropping, innovation for arrangement of improved fertilizers, soil test based supplement solutions, generating soil fertility maps based on the district wise GIS , organic farming, carbon sequestration in soils, sink limit of soils for substantial metal poisons, reusing wastage by recycling, soil microbial assorted qualities and biofertilizers and so on. The organization needs to take up the rising difficulties of expanding sustenance grain generation and guaranteeing nourishment and healthful security from contracting land assets, describing and moderating vast soil-biodiversity for proper agribusiness, accomplishing independence in harvest preparation through indigenous mineral and by-product sources, creating effective advancements for waste reusing, keeping up soil quality and environmental adjust, and creating vitality proficient farming and sequestering carbon by reorienting its examination interests tending to the rising issues viz., improving supplement and water utilize productivity; managing soil and deliver quality; soil biodiversity and genomics, environmental change and carbon sequestration; limiting soil pollution and so forth. Location
The Institute is about 10 Km and 7 Km away from Bhopal railway station and Bhopal Airport respectively. Research Divisions:
