Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology is an autonomous university in Delhi, India. It is a research-oriented university with strong focus on research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is established in 2008 June 10. The institute began with its first batch of 60 B.Tech students in 2008. This 1st batch graduated in 2012. By that time, the institute has attracted nearly thirty college members, and its educational program consisted of B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs in CSE and ECE. The Chancellor of the Institute is the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, who also chairs the General Council of the Institute. The Board of Governors consists of the Director, the Chairman, four experts, two government nominees and two professors. This institute contains the research centres such as Infosys Center for Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity Education and Research Centre, Centre on Computational Biology. Research groups are Image Analysis and Biometrics and Cryptology Research Group. They are collaborated with the Indo-Korea Collaboration, Infosys Grant for Center for Artificial Intelligence, Association with University of Florida, Ulsan National Institute Of Science, Republic of Korea (UNIST), Universidade de de Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil and also with the industry. And institute also associated with some other research groups like Advanced Electronic Systems, Information Security and Privacy, Scalable Systems, Economics. The institute has the following academic departments: • Department of Computer Science & Engineering • Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering • Department of Mathematics • Department of Humanities Social Sciences • Department of Sciences • Department of Computational Biology. IIIT-Delhi was ranked 56th among all kind of Indian universities in 2016 by National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Human Resource Development,Government of India. IIIT-Delhi was ranked 7th among government engineering colleges in a 2015 Dataquest survey of technical schools, 9th in India among engineering colleges in a 2014 survey by Aglasem.
