Instituto Universitario de Ciencia y Tecnología was established in the year 1997 with the key objective to generate knowledge of high technological value, to support industries in the field of life sciences. Josep Castells Boliart was the founder, managing director and general manager of inkemia since 1997. For its internationalization process InKemia IUCT stoodup in Brazil and Colobia. IUCT became authorized as a Pharmaceutical Laboratory by the Ministry of Health in the year 2004. In 2015 IUCT group laid the foundation stone of the new headquarters in Parets del Vallès. IUCT areas of activities are focused on R & D & i projects and technology transfer, development of own technological platforms, available for the use of industrial projects technological services, transmission of knowledge and specialized training and high tech entrepreneurship. iuct lead to concentrate and produce information related to work in the sectors of pharmacist, chemicals, biotechnology, cosmetic and food related research. Also focused their work in collaboration with AFAQUIM, asebio, ASEFAPI, eada, FEBiotec, Pupo, feiQue, red QS, SuSchem, UVIC, ISDIN,UNION EUROPEA. Some companies affiliated to it are vytrus biotech, Plasmia biotech, mind the byte, lean bio, myogem health, Pharmamel, clinical research, abouit, bioo-arkyne, inkemia green chemicals and having partnership with Barcelona Bioscience and Cimer. The institute also has some custom researches in synthesis, ID, Tools, characterization, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics. A key player in the training at IUCT is its large teaching staff of over 200 collaborators who offer Masters, Postgraduate and Specialization courses. Funding seed Capital Fund was born under the strategic perspective of "Open Innovation". The fund has 4 million euros to invest in 10 years with a volume of investment per operation of between 50 thousand and 400 thousand euros, with an average transaction estimated at 200 thousand euros. On February 24 and 25, the Congress of Entrepreneurial Scientists brought together the Cosmocaixa of Barcelona, as well as 350 scientists, entrepreneurs and investors from the field of biosciences and technologies of Information and communication, to generate new business opportunities with high added value.
