The Institute for European Studies (IES) at the Vrije University Brussels (VUB) is an academic Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and a policy think tank that attentions on the European Union in an international setting. The Institute developments academic education and research in various disciplines, and provides services to policy stakeholders, makers, scholars, and public. The IES exactly explores EU organizations, law and policies within the environment of globalization and universal power, including a focus on the EU in international activities and institutions. The disciplines applied at the IES include economics, law, social, political sciences, and communication sciences the Institute’s activities focus on the various ways in which institutions, politics and law intersect with each other in the EU its member states and at the worldwide. The IES also provides a number of academic services to broadcast its research and promote its education to stimulate academic and public discussion on topical European issues. The Institute promotes academic cooperation with a wide range of Universities and public along with private institutions in Belgium and overseas.
