Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence

The Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence is a central academic institute of Bielefeld University in Germany. It was originated by a resolution of the University Senate on December 18, 1996. Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Heitmeyer appointed as director. And later Prof. Dr. Rainer Dollase was his deputy. The work at the Institute is focused on academic and experiential examines of destructive and constructive conflicts and their consequences. One central effort is on the extent and causes of violence. Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence conducts theoretic and experiential examines on the different forms, causes of conflict dimensions and violence. Interdisciplinary methods throw light on various aspects of ethnic, religious, cultural. The same applies to specific political appearances such as right-wing fanaticism and the arrogances on which it is founded. The research program also covers other forms of violence, such as those trained by youngsters. Our research takes into reflection the complex interactions between social developments sociospatial contexts, social psychosomatic devices, collective groups of actors. The IJCV provides an opportunity for scientific conversation and public distribution of up to date scientific information on battle and violence. The IJCV is independent, open access; peer reviewed and included in the Social Sciences Citation Index as well as other relevant databases. In the open section, accepted manuscripts are being published over the year as soon as publication accepted; it is up to the respective guest editors whether articles are published simultaneously or also individually. All articles are recognized by an article number and DOI. The Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG) conducts theoretic and experiential research on both positive and negative conflicts, their causes and consequences. In addition to simple research, the IKG also carries out applied research. Along with individual projects, cooperation with researchers from other institutes is also a part of the IKGs profile. The Institute is fared by an interdisciplinary executive board. Additionally the Institute has an academic advisory board, which ensure the research quality and supervises the scientific work. There are also several studies on Social Disintegration and conflict as well as on Anti-Semitism or Migration
