The Institute of Analytical Sciences is a specializing center in analytical chemistry. It is a training, expertise and a French research center. It is affiliated with the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). It is established in the year 2011. The Institute of Analytical Sciences is affiliated to National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), Claude Bernard University Lyon 1, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon and it consists of 200 technical and scientific staff members who are experts in Theoretical Chemistry, Physics, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry etc. The Institute of Analytical Sciences structured itâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s research activities mainly in 5 areas. They are as follows: âÃ⬢ mass spectrometry- Mass Spectrometry Biological Analysis, Technology and research in Analytical Chemistry for environment and interactions in health. âÃ⬢ Applied analysis and modeling âÃ⬢ NMR spectroscopy- Solid State Biological NMR, Biomolecular Interactions, Biophysics of Complex Systems, structural Biology, Fragment based screening and NMR for bioactive molecules, Hyperpolarised Magnetic Resonance, NMR Methods for Metabolism, Solid-State NMR for Materials. âÃ⬢ separative sciences and surfaces- Chromatography and Hyphenated Techniques, Natural and Bio based products, Separative Methods. âÃ⬢ (bio)Interfaces, micro / nanosystems- Interfaces and Biosensors, Micro and Nanobiotechnology, Surfaces. The research mainly is to develop new methods in the analysis of complex systems in all fields through technological innovation with applications in biomedicine, environment, calculation methods, materials science and structural biology. It is applied in the fields of Computational Sciences- It comprises of 6 research groups and more than 50 researcher s who are experts in Biological Analysis by Mass Spectroscopy. It is an important transverse theme at ISA, Environment-Many environmental matrices has been investigated by research: Sediments, Aquatic systems like urban, rivers, surface water etc, Health- It brings together 10 research groups that combine their high-level experts to develop analytical tools innovatively and to improve human health by different methods. There are about 4 domains particularly focused in the development. They are: Quantification and clinical evaluation of biomarkers, Development of methods for innovative biomedical diagnostics tools, Characterization of biologics (proteins, antibodies), lipids and small molecules (drugs, leads, metabolites), Development of methods to boost small-molecule drug discovery, Materials- It is a transverse theme at ISA and Structural Biology. The Institute contributes to the undergraduate programme and university studies and continuing vocational trainings. The institute is involved in competitiveness group of similar things and regional group of similar things. Different modes of partnershis in The Institute of Analytical Sciences are National, International, Industrial, Networking, Volarization. Academic staff is involved in several master programs . Some scientists are experts in standardization committees at national and European stages. In addition, Business incubator role is played by the Institute of Analytical Sciences in addition. and hosts start-ups: ANAQUANT,[7]BIOASTER (fr) metabolomics technical platform, etc.
