The Institute of Food Science of National Research Council is a multidisciplinary research institute which focuses on different fields of nutritional sciences. The National Research Council is an Italian public organization headquartered in Rome set up to support scientific as well as technological research involved. The Institute of Food Science is founded with the mission to deepen the knowledge in food sciences and further use it for growing industrial applications. The main research lines of the institute lies in the study of composition and nutritional quality of food; evaluation of its effects on human health; characterization and enhancement of food diet; and genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics involved in food sciences.
