At KINS our work centers around the recovery of brain and other neurological tissue from donors for the purpose of research. We abide by the guidelines set forth by the FDA regarding tissue donation for research purposes, proper next of kin consent, and ethical guidelines set forth by the Anatomical Gift Act. We also act as a short term neurotissue repository for center brain banks prior to shipping the tissue off to their node location. Through our process of delicate and precise recovery of brain and other neurological tissue, our coordination with brain banks and research centers, and our vast network of neuroscientists, we are able to advance our understanding of neurological diseases and thus come that much closer to finding better treatments and perhaps, cures.
