it is an institute started its operations in 1970. It main intention of the institute is to highlight and promote research work in the specific field. The key areas include hydrology, geomorphology and geotechnical research. A work assessment is made on earth conditions and draught conditions regularly. Water management and flood conditions are studied and updated on time. New policies and technologies are developed to overcome the adverse conditions. To prevent various natural disasters a systematic monitoring and analyzing is done. A database of past and present are maintained and studied to predict the unexpected disasters, calamities and draught conditions which may happen anytime.
