Instituto de Aplicaciones de las Tecnologías de la Información y de las Comunicaciones Avanzadas, an Institute of Research located in the Polytechnic City of Innovation (CPI) of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
The ITACA Institutes mission is applied research in the field of Information Technology and ICT Communications in a national and international context, with a direct use of its developments towards public and private companies. With the development of technological innovations, the ITACA Institute aims to strengthen the competitiveness and economic development of industrial society, both local and European, that establishes a benefit for society in general.
The ITACA Institute develops research in various fields of ICT technologies and provides results in the form of patents, licenses, training and mainly in the form of collaborative projects with industry. The technological offer offered by ITACA focuses on the areas of digital electronic systems, industrial electronics, telecommunications systems, telematics, ICT systems in the health field, sensors, compatibility, electromagnetism and microwaves.
The research carried out at the ITACA Institute is internationally recognized for its quality and excellence. The institute occupies a relevant position in the ranking of participation in both European R & D projects as well as national and regional projects.
The research activity of the institute ITACA is oriented to the application of the results. The organization pursues the implementation of an innovative research seeking social and industrial applications. For this purpose, the activity is based on the balance between basic applied research and development and innovation projects.
In order to carry out this mission, the ITACA Institute is organized around specialized areas of activity, all related to information technology and advanced communications (ICT). Each area of activity is led by prestigious researchers bringing together a total of more than 150 researchers.
