Ä°stanbul 29 Mayıs University was established by the Turkish Religious Foundation (Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı - TDV) in 2010, is a private university dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in social studies. The University offers multilingual education and has the highest number of foreign students in Turkey. The University is collaborated with the ISAM library, which holds one of the most important collections in Turkey for the study of the Middle East and Islam. The University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in three faculties, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and the Faculty of International Islamic and Religious Studies. The University has been awarded with the European Charter of Higher Education (ECHE) in 2014 and is an active participant in the Erasmus exchange program. The University also has the Arabic Center for Education Implementation and Research (Arapça ÖÄretim Uygulama ve AraÅtırma Merkezi, ARÖMER), which is the first institution in Turkey designed to provide training for Arabic learning and teaching. Istanbul 29 Mayıs University Research Centers are Centre for Quranic Studies (KURAMER) which conduct scholarly research on the Quran, Center for Continuous Education Application and Research (SÜREM) aims to develop relationships between public, private sectors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and international organizations and to enhance educational and cultural level of the society, Center for Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research (TÜRÖMER) for Establishing cooperation and working together with similar institutions in Turkish speaking countries, Arabic Center for Education Implementation and Research (29 Mayıs ARÖMER) is to promote relations with public, private, and non-governmental organizations which operate in the field of Arabic education. The center works towards improving the quality of Arabic teaching in Turkey and Center for Psychology Application and Research (PAMER). Istanbul 29 Mayıs University’s Student Counseling Services offer a variety of services to students throughout their university education, which is a critical milestone in the process of transition from adolescence to adulthood. During this transition period, students take on new responsibilities, make decisions that will impact their future lives, and individualize and rearrange their close relationships accordingly. This transformation is shaped by developmental processes that are accompanied by both positive and negative psychological experiences. Istanbul 29 Mayıs University supports international student exchange programs and makes bilateral agreements with institutions all over the world. At the present time the university has agreements with the University of Jordan and has an active exchange program in Kazakhstan, in addition to bilateral agreements, as part of the Erasmus+ program, with prestigious universities in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania, Macedonia and Slovakia.
