To accomplish this goal, the students conduct research on humans and society, the nature and phenomena of ethics from the perspectives of normative science, social science, and behavioral science. Major in Elementary Mathematics Education: We seek helpful methods for researching mathematics learning theories and improving teaching methodology in actual contexts, through understanding background knowledge related to elementary mathematics education. Major in Elementary Educational Administration and Policy EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS: • The Graduate School of Education: Pursuing the realization of the university precepts, Truth, Affection and Novelty, the Graduate School devotes its efforts to provide students with in-depth knowledge of elementary education. The establishment of the graduate school was approved on November 15, 1995. Since then, the number of majors have been expanded and courses in 20 majors are currently offered (Courses in 13 majors are offered during the summer and winter vacations while courses in 7 majors are offered as evening classes). Doctorate courses specializing in elementary education are expected to open soon. The graduate school serves not only as a leading research institute where competent and creative specialists in elementary education are retrained, but also as a lifelong educational institute for the educators. Attached Elementary Schools: The attached schools, Jeonju Buseol Elementary School and Gunsan Buseol Elementary School, focus on an open education system. They provide the university students with opportunities to practice teaching skills and to apply theoretical knowledge to the classrooms. The student teachers will learn about issues related to real educational settings. The school activities are designed to help children learn about truth and dreams, gain ability to handle daily living, and grow up to pioneer a bright future of their own.
