Primarily, Tohoku Pharmaceutical University was founded in the year 1939, which is located in the city of Tohoku and Hokkaido regions, Japan. In course of time, this university has developed with Cancer Research Institute, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences (Doctoral Course); Pharmaceutical Chemistry etc. were added or reorganized. Many other universities from other countries as well as from china, such as, Uppsala University Sweden, National University of Mongolia, and Natong University China etc. have come forward to support in research and development.
In the field of pharmaceutical sciences, university has been offering nearly 20 graduate courses and 21 master courses. Tohoku pharmaceutical university has been associated with institute of Molecular Biomembrane and Glycobiology, which was established in 2006, handles divisions such as Regulatory Glycobiology, Cell Recognition Study, Cancer Glycosylation Research, Glycopathology and Glyco-Signal Research. University has been contributing its academic activities to many students and nearly there are 2000 faculty members participating in its action.
