European commission, which represents the whole European Union, is scientifically represented by Joint Research Centre (JRC). This provides independent scientific advice and support to EU policy. There are several current topics in scientific field are taken by Joint Research Centre of the European Community, such as, Agriculture and food security, Economic and Monetary Union, Energy and transport, Environment and climate change, Health and consumer protection, Information society, Innovation and growth, Nuclear safety and security, Safety and security and Standards.
Joint Research Centre (JRC) is working with 7 research institutes, Institute for Environment and Sustainability (IES), Institute for Energy and Transport (IET), Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (IHCP), Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS), Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM), Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU) and Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen (IPSC). JRC maintains the science hub, the scientific knowledge produced, will be presented on a common platform with other institutes in specific research.
