Kastamonu University is one of the best universities located in Kastamonu including some of its districts, Turkey. It was established in 2006 under the Turkish law no. 5467. Initially the university had Faculty of Education, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Science and Arts, School of Physical Education and Sports, Vocational School of Higher Education. It currently has 748 faculty (professors, associate professors, assistant professors and lecturers), and 159 administrative personnel. The primary aim of the university is to provide education services, provide knowledge and disseminate it to mankind. The University is leading by increasing the number of bilateral, Erasmus and Farabi agreements. Artistic activities and amateur works are promoted by the university so that students can spend their spare time in best ways. Regularly celebrated festivals in the university are Spring festival and the Newroz/Nevruz festival. During these festivals, students’ exhibit sales and presentation, sports activities, movies and theatre shows, various contests, panels, conferences, symposiums, fashion shows and concerts that attract several visitors. Kastamonu University has Department of Foreign Languages which provides a one-year compulsory (for School of Tourism and Hotel Management) and voluntary (for other faculties, schools and vocational schools) English Preparation classes. In addition, TÖMER (Turkish Language Teaching, Practice and Research Center) provides Turkish Language classes for international students.
