Research activities are directed to excel in technological capabilities for ocean applications and to develop and demonstrate world class technologies for sustainable utilization of ocean resources as well. KUFOS is focussing on developing inland aquaculture by brood stock development in captivity, induced breeding and seed production of cultivable species of shellfishes and finfishes and grow-out farming practices. The fisheries sector demands sustainable aquaculture systems, responsible fisheries, post-harvest management and research to augment productivity, efficiency, equity, sustainability and trade.
