The medical institute is made up of four institutes and the medical training provided to the students lasts five years or an optional intercalated course is of six years. The school of medicine is associated with the two big Hospitals for clinical teaching: the Leeds General Infirmary and St Jamess University Hospital both of them run by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
