Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya is is located in Bardowa, Nagaon. It is established through The Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya Act, 2013 in the State of Assam, India in 2013. It is named after Srimanta Sankardev, and Bardowa, Nagaon is his birth place. Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva (1449-1568) was a all-rounder , who transformed and modernized Assamese society with his egalitarian ideology. His work was in the diverse fields of religion, literature, music, dance, drama, architecture, and social reconstruction. He translated most of the Bhâgavata Mahapurana into the Assamese language and was the first playwright in any Indian language other than Sanskrit. Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya offers an post graduate ed on individualized attention and an international focus.
