Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU) derives its name from Maharaja Agrasen, born during the last stages of Dwapar Yuga in the Mahabharat epic era who established the Kingdom of Agroha, near Hissar in Haryana, about 5000 years ago. The visionary idea of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, whose name is linked with higher education in India, forms the foundation principle of this University. According to him, the University was not merely an institute meant for imparting knowledge or professional skills, but an institute which can transform individuals into responsible citizens.
The endeavour of Maharaja Agrasen Technical Educational Society (MATES), the Sponsor of Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU) is to contribute to the society by establishing a Centre of Knowledge which fosters equality, integrity and excellence. MATES is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to the society. Maharaja Agrasen University envisions itself as an emerging Center of Excellence.
The University is located in the foothills of Kasauli, which provide's a pollution free upbringing a in hale and hearty environment. University offers sufficient academic facilities together with extra-curricular clubs/societies, Hostels, Cafeteria and Medicare Centre. All these facilities provide a momentum to teaching - learning process and perks up the value of education.
The university has five different courses with a separate building for each which includes School of law, school of management, School of architecture, school of applied science, school of pharmacy and institute of technology with Eminent and experienced faculty. The university is collaborated with foreign universities like Auburn University, Albama, USA, University of Leicester of United Kingdom, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Ghana Technology University College, Ghana. Thus is beneficial for the students to exchange of Academic & Research Ideas and to apply for their higher studies. It also provides training and placement cell which facilitate the linkages with industries/companies for training and recruitment of its students. It organizes training and personality development programmes for its students and faculty for their overall development.
