Marine Biological Association of the UK is a research organization. It was founded in 1884. It is located in Plymouth. It has produced over 12 Nobel laureates. The Marin British Association publishes the Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom. The Committee at the International Fisheries Exhibition 1883 established a British Marine Laboratory, which ultimately led to the formation of the Marine Biological Association at Plymouth. Professor Huxley was the first President of the Association. The National Marine Biological Library is the supporting library of MBA. The library has large collection of periodicals, serials, journals, reports and grey literature, a large collection of historical and modern books, an extensive reprint collection, and expedition reports. The organization is considered as one of the most reputed marine research organizations.
