The Marine Sciences Laboratory is a marine research laboratory working under Department of Energy. It is located in Olympic Peninsula (west of Washington); with its main center at Pacific Northwest National Laboratorys Sequim Marine Research Operations. It mainly focuses on sustainable development of ocean energy, impacts of human activities, including climate change, on marine resources and protecting coastal environments from security threats. Marine Sciences Laboratory does extensive research on shore and ocean environments for sustainable energy through impacts of wave, tidal, ocean-thermal, and offshore wind energy systems. It also works on siting of coastal environments and improving techniques to meet power production goals. The team at Marine Sciences Laboratory is trying to enhance the use and effective assess of science to help natural resource stewards.
