The Official Metrology Laboratory of Galicia (LOMG) (LOMG) is a technological center whose main activity is integrated in the field of science and technology, business system in collaboration with other centers, universities, etc. LOMG mission is to aim excellence in service to enhance competition. The main objective is to achieve and maintain a metrological and technological leadership for the industry, generate sufficient own resources, etc. Laboratory is also integrated with the directorate of energy and mines of economic and industry department which supports the department related to measurement. The services are calibration services, measurement and testing services, etc. Laboratory is mainly focused on the Industry and legal metrology, research, development and innovation. Metrology is propotional to the measuring of instruments and method of measurements in respect to the legal requirements, manufacturers, etc. LOMG is developing control actions in the Autonomous community of Galicia. LOMG disposes their first level of technical and human resources to collaborate with them in R&D to carry out the scope of measure. It has its own research in the field of industrial production and nanometrology. This aims in getting closer to the business sector. The management also provides training on workshops on management and calibration of equipment and measurement management system. The ongoing researches is on integration of an atomic force microscope system in a coordinate measuring machine to extend their range of measurement, quality control in the industries of PATACA and CHESTNUNT artificial vision, etc. Lab has patents on the brake calibrator and surface temperature sensor calibrator. It also has collaboration with the research groups, technological centers, etc. The softwares in it include SEGMENT, SreC and SAGITARIO.
