National Fisheries University

1941 April Pusan Fisheries College(Pusan Koto Suisan Gakko) is founded in Pusan by the Government-General of Korea. 1945 August Dissolved in consequence of the end of World War II. 1945 December The Agriculture and Forestry Ministry of Japan sanctions the repatriated students' transference to the Imperial Fisheries Institute in Tokyo. 1946 May A branch school of the Imperial Fisheries Institute with 3 departments(Fishery Science and Technology, Food Science and Technology, and Biology and Aquacuture) is founded at Yoshimi, Shimonoseki City. 1947 April Renamed as The Shimonoseki College of Fisheries with the new Department of Marine Engineering. 1950 August The Division of General Education is added. 1963 January Renamed as Shimonoseki University of Fisheries. 1992 March National Institution for Academic Degree sanctions the conferment of a bachelor's degree to the graduates of Shimonoseki University of Fisheries. 1994 April The graduate school of fisheries science is established. 1994 June Renamed as National Fisheries University. 1997 April Renamed as the new Departments with the new Laboratories. 2001 April Renamed as Incorporated Administractive Agency National Fisheries University. 2005 April Some of the departments and laboratories are renamed. 2008 April Some of the departments and laboratories are renamed. 2010 April Some of the laboratories are renamed.
