The National Institute of Technology Hamirpur or NITH is a public engineering college located in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India. NIT Hamirpur offers a comprehensive curriculum for undergraduate, graduate and doctorate studies in various fields of engineering, pure sciences and humanities. NIT aims to achieve academic excellence in engineering, technology, architecture and science by imparting quality and value based education. NIT includes 15 departments in B.tech courses and 2 centres of excellence which are Centre for Excellence in Energy & Environment, Centre for Material Science and Engineering. Being a residential campus, there are ten boys hostels and three girls hostels, with residences for the faculty and staff.it has well infrastructure and facilitates Computer Centre, Central Library, Sports, and Health Centre to the scholars

REC Hamirpur was awarded the status of deemed university and upgraded into a National Institute of Technology in 2002. It was awarded the status of Institute of National Importance.
