The OIST Master Plan concept aims to develop a highly original, international-oriented and ‘best-in-the-world’ graduate university. Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Promotion Corporation was established on September 1st 2005, in order to prepare for the new graduate university. The selected fields of research cover a number of core disciplines such as, bioscience, chemistry, computer and information science, engineering, mathematics and physics. Additional multidisciplinary studies which integrate the core disciplines, such as biosystems, will be developed. The president of OITC is Dr. Sydney Brenner, Nobel Laureate. The objective of the Okinawa Health Biotechnology Research and Development Center is to create valuable new industries and to improve manufactured products by conducting bio health related research and experimental development trough government-industry-academia collaboration. The rental research rooms offer functionality and relaxation. The analytical instrument room is equipped with the latest technology. Includes a contamination area and an uncontaminated area, a clearly separated processing plant, a sample plant and a bio plant.
