The Singapore Management University (Abbreviation: SMU) is an autonomous university in Singapore that specialises in business and management studies. The university provides an American-style education modelled by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. SMU is one of the youngest universities to receive accreditation from the oldest global accrediting body, AACSB International. SMU is accredited for both its business and accounting undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. SMU's Lee Kong Chian School of Business is one of the youngest in the world to be EQUIS—accredited for five years. Awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), the accreditation covers all programmes offered by the LKCSB from the undergraduate degree up to the PhD level.
