Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Medical College is the first medical established by IOMIT in the year 1999. It is being operated for the last 15 years and is the first medical college of Mauritius. The courses offered by this medical college are Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
The SSR college spreads around 25 acres of land in which 1, 75,000 square feet covering pre-clinical and para-clinical departments. It has more than 2000 beds for the clinical training of its students.
The SSR college is affiliated to University of Mauritius. It has around 775 doctors in the university. The idea was to develop SSR college as the best medical international college with international standards for all the countries surrounding by Mauritius but not only the Southern African region.
