The SC Aranzadi is open to the participation of all people who love science. The aranzadi science society currently has 1700 members of which about 150 correspond to researchers from different scientific disciplines, who carry out their research tasks within the scope of this entity. The researchers are mostly university graduates in the field of natural and human sciences, the most important scientific disciplines being biology, history, archaeology, medicine, Anthropology, Ethnography, geography and Geology. Exhibitions, excursions, courses, conferences and congresses bring the interested parties to the knowledge or help you to deepen it, those areas that arouse our curiosity. The society can develop its actions and research works aimed at the conservation of the environment and cultural heritage. It is established as a research and study centre, aranzadi has become a reference for the scientific community as evidenced by the recognition, acquired in 2001, of public utility entity. At a moment it is constituted like a centre of study and investigation in which they receive diverse specialists who carry out their works according to specific plans and projects. General studies and pure research are developed, while a wide dissemination work is carried out for a better knowledge of these sciences. In addition, informative tasks are carried out to better preserve the natural environment and Archaeological and Ethnography heritage, together with the institutions. From its origins the society has been developing many activities, to the point of being one of the most important entities in the field of biodiversity and anthropology and history. This society is a non-profit scientific association whose objectives are the scientific research of the natural and human environment and the dissemination of the results obtained. It was founded in 1947 and took its name as a tribute to the outstanding researcher Telesforo de Aranzadi. They promote the work of our researchers, bringing the knowledge to the different disciplines studied in the society. They encourage citizen participation in scientific processes or in scientific decision-making. They promote the understanding of scientific concepts or phenomena. They approach science to citizens from the near and every day, to arouse curiosity and scientific interest on a personal level. They use active and innovative methodologies, which in addition to knowledge develop critical thinking, scientific criteria, active citizenship and creativity. They are multidisciplinary team with a good network of contacts of educational, environmental and cultural agents at local and European level. This society has signed collaboration agreements with different research centres and other institutions framed with the company statutory objectives; such as scientific and technical research in matters pertaining to the natural and human environment, both pure and applied; the dissemination of such knowledge, and the results of the research carried out; and the protection and conservation of the natural and human environment. Every year there are many young people who participate voluntarily in the activities of Aanzadi well be archaeological, excavations, recoveries habitats, laboratory work, etc. annually work camps are also organised for young volunteers, carrying out reconstruction of buildings and protection of natural landscapes and promoting the interest in science. They develop programs, projects and educational materials on cultural heritage and the environment. Science projects, outreach and education with the aim of protecting the natural and cultural heritage and disseminating its values, a whole series of projects are promoted in which the science component is defining its element.
