All laboratory services at LMH are contracted through a partnership with the South Bend Medical Foundation. South Bend Medical Foundation provides clinical testing and blood bank services for communities in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. The foundation works together with local hospitals, clinics, and doctors offices to provide diagnostic laboratory services for patients. It operates about a dozen lab facilities at medical facilities and independent locations. The companys forensic toxicology department conducts employee and athletic drug testing. South Bend Medical Foundation also provides public health screenings for diseases such as sickle cell anemia and prostrate cancer. The foundation was formed in 1912 by a group of physicians.
