The Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, established in 2011 which is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. The aim of the university is not only to provide world-class educators in the field of Physical Education and Sports but also to produce world-class sportsmen, coaches and technical officials. The University offers career oriented certificate courses in Under Graduate Courses, Post Graduate Courses, Post Graduate Diploma Programs, Research Programs in various fields like Physical Education, Sports Science, Fitness Management, Exercise Therapy and Physical Conditioning, Adventure Sports Administration, Sports Management, Sports Psychology, Sports Coaching and Sports journalism etc.
The university has around 8 affiliated colleges which offer courses in the field of sports and physical education. The Swarnim Gujarat Sports University will play a pivotal role in providing trained human resource for Sports Development in the state. The University through its proposed High Performance Centre will help players enhance their physical and mental skills required to shine at the global sports arena. Emphasis will be laid on developing fitness techniques through traditional methods like Yoga and Meditation.
The University played a vital role in making this event successful. SGSU undertook the responsibility of liasoning and coordination with foreign delegates for their visit and stay during opening and closing ceremony of Khel Maha Kumbh. This enabled a new gateway for Sports Authority of Gujarat by signing various MOU’s with various nations through their delegates.
