TUBITAK MARMARA RESEARCH CENTER (MAM) was established in the year of 1972. Area 8000 acres. It performs its operations in “TÜBðTAK Gebze Campus” in the City of Kocaeli. The aim of this center is to become a world leader in science and technology and research. This is one of the leading organizations of recent technology the whole world thanks to its ability and capacity of research, infrastructure, world class administration and operational process management. The center is currently headed by Prof. Dr. ðbrahim Dinçer. In the year 1976 research projects that were funded by the UNIDO and NATO’s Science for stability program were conducted. In 1982 and 1984 great no. of contracted projects took an honourable position. In 1991 it started adopting industrial research and finally in 2010, the Information Technologies Institute was transferred into Turkish National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology, an institute of TÜBðTAK Informatics and Information Security Research Center.

TÜBðTAK gives following awards:
1) Science Award for present scientists on the basis of significant contributions to the advancement of world and universe science (Category: Recipients of TÜBðTAK Science Award)
2) Service Award, who have specifically served the growth of science and technology (Category:Recipients of TÜBðTAK Service Award)
3 Incentive Award for present scientists below age of 40 and necessary qualifications to give science in the future at an international level.
4) Special Award to Turkish scientists and researchers living in abroad (equivalent to the TÜBITAK Science Award).

TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) a speech was given by V. Orkun Hasekioßlu on the opening of Zirvenin. Dr. Speaking of Orkun Hasekioßlu, TÜBðTAK stated that it is important to acquire such high technologies in order for Turkey to be able to leap in science and technology and gave information about the support of TUBITAK in this area.
Zirvede, TÜBðTAK MAM Strategy and Technology Development Vice President Assoc. Dr. Murat Makaracñ, Business Development Unit Manager Nuh Yñlmaz and TÜBðTAK MAM delegation consisting of representatives of the institute were in bilateral talks with many companies. At TÜBðTAK MAM stand representatives of Environment and Clean Production, Energy, Chemistry, Materials, Earth and Marine Sciences institutes were informed about the activities of the institute on their summit participants.
