Tarki Research Institute is a well -known social research institute. The history of the research institute longs back to decades & has gained more fame in the recent times as a socio economic research institute than a social research institute. The institute was initially established under the name TARKI Social Science Data Archive. It was established in the year 1985, in the City of Budapest, Hungary. Later the Institute began to extend its empire, and as a step, a new polling network for the university was founded in the year 1991. Following this, the institute has been made as a private organization. The reasons for becoming private were been told as for-profit. The staff operating there had themselves turned the institute to a staff-owned shareholding company. Later in the year 2007, the Kopint-Tarki Institute for Economic Research was established in addition to Tarki-Tudok Centre for Knowledge Management and Educational Research which was also established in the same year. Tarki Research Institute is a social research institute that conducts researches on applied socioeconomic conditions globally. These socio economic researches were carried in correlation with social stratification, income distribution, labor markets, intergenerational transfers, consumption, tax-benefit systems and lifestyle attitudes and patterns. All the researchers & academicians at Tarki are highly qualified educationally & well experienced professionally. All the senior staff members at Tarki research institute possesses PhD’s and were placed in many professorial positions at many other major research universities. Tarki social Research Institute is a tribute to the Tarki Tarki Research group and is associated with the other members of the Tarki group. Tarki research institute has been operating social science research activities successfully since 1985. Though initially started with social science research as the main research theme, later the research theme has been changed to socio economic research. Besides, the research has also experienced changes from macro to micro aspects of economic activities and social stratification. The research has been extended to applied social science from a focus on academic research. Socio economic methods have come to role play from pure sociological methods.
