The TecnoCampus Mataro-Maresme is a science and innovation park located in Mataro (Barcelona). It has three university schools, a business park and a business incubator. Its history goes back to 1997, when the Direction of the Polytechnic University School of Mataró presents a project of technological park that promotes and consolidates the university activity and technology transfer of the city of Mataró and its region El Maresme. The project drew the two existing University Schools, the Cetemsa Center, and the Technological Incubator of the Municipal Institute of Economic Promotion of Mataró. The project was presented to the city government under the name "TecnoCampus, a timely and useful project". The project was finally promoted by the city government in 1999 by supporting the newly created Mataró Polytechnic Foundation, which later became known as the Tecnocampus Foundation in 2000. In 2010, after the surrogacy of the two universities headquartered in Mataró to the TecnoCampus Foundation and the creation of the Higher School of Health Sciences, in September 2010 the Foundation moved to the facilities of TecnoCampus Technology Park Mataró-Maresme1, where the physical integration of the three university schools takes place. The park consists of three university centers, housed in the TCM-1 building Tecnocampus comprises 3 University colleges that depend on UPF. This mother university is public and all degrees are official degrees within the EEES (European Space of Higher Education).
