The National University of La Plata, founded in 1905 by Dr. Joaquín Víctor González, started from the confluence from two concepts. First concept is the traditional interpretation of the term "University", as a natural domain of knowledge and other one is the updated idea of experimental, social and artistic scientific knowledge in its different expressions. With more than a century of trajectory, it continues being pioneer in studies and cultural, artistic and scientific developments of advanced. In the university, Scientific, technological and artistic research activities tend to expand the frontier of human knowledge and its practical application for the benefit of society. In pursuit of these objectives, the UNLP deploys its strategies for the three levels of education: Pre-university, graduate and postgraduate. At the pre university level it have 5 schools. The academic degree offer is divided into 17 faculties and 107 courses are awarded in which 157 are undergraduate degrees. At the postgraduate level, there are 184 doctoral, master and / or specialization courses offered by the UNLP. Different department are divided in the university as, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, Arts, Agriculture and Forestry, Astronomic and Geophysic Sciences, Economic Sciences, Exact Sciences, Law and Social Sciences, Medical Sciences, Natural Sciences and Museum, Veterinary Sciences, Humanities and Education Sciences, Informatics, Engineering, Dentistry, Psychology, Journalism and Social Communication, Social Work and Institute of Physics (founded 1905). The National University of La Plata ranked 730 in world and 2 in national. The university contains 5915 students in pre-university courses, 98954 students and 11560 to teachers to teach the classes and 7854 researchers in masters and doctoral courses. In recent years there is an average enrollment of around 23,000 applicants, of whom 18,500 actually enter. About 6,000 students graduate annually from their classrooms. The University also has 154 Institutes, Centers and Laboratories of Research and Development where they work about 6,000 Researchers. The presidency of university are started from 1897 and the university headed by the president, Raúl Aníbal Perdomo.
