The education and research that the University provides is wide ranging, spanning from business studies, administration, and technology, to languages and communication. Our research is relevant to our time and we produce scientific knowledge of high international quality. The strength of the university is the community spirit, which promotes multidisciplinary studies and research. The campus is located on the western coast of Finland, and offers a modern study environment for 5000 students on the shore of the beautiful archipelago.
The faculty of Business Studies is one of the largest in its sector in Finland. Internationality is visible in the constantly increasing number of international students and staff. Achieving EPAS quality accreditation indicated that our education programmes are of a high international standard. The quality of education has been one of the guiding values and success factors of the faculty. Our key areas of research have been internationally awarded.

For educating doctoral students, the university has a Graduate School. Research is done according to contemporary standards in research groups which are often international and multidisciplinary. University of Vaasa is committed to follow the guidelines for responsible conduct of research published by The Finnish Advisory Board on Research Integrity (TENK).
The board of the University of Vaasa has appointed Jari Kuusisto as the rector of the University of Vaasa during the term 1.2.2017 – 31.12.2020. Suvi Ronkainen is still recovering from a difficult illness, and she continues as a part-time senior advisor of the management until 31.7.2018. Since June 2015, Kuusisto has managed rector’s duty on interim basis.
