Tibet University is a comprehensive university affiliated to the Tibet Autonomous Region, "211 Project" key construction university, the Tibet Autonomous Region Peoples Government and the Ministry of Education to build colleges and universities, in May 2013 included in the "Central and Western Higher Education Revitalization Plan", July 2013 success Approved as a doctorate grant unit. According to the development needs of the situation in Tibet, approved by the State Council, in July 1975 to set up Tibet Normal University, in July 1985 formally established Tibet University. There are 26,000 students in the school, of which 9346 ordinary students, 22 doctoral students, 589 graduate students, all kinds of adult life 1.6 million people.
In the past five years, the school has undertaken 631 scientific research projects above provincial and ministerial level, including 2 major projects of the National Social Science Fund, 1 "973" project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 1 of the "973" preliminary research project, 1 international cooperation project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, The National Natural Science Foundation of a key project, research funding 160 million yuan.
