Tongren University Tongren University, a public university in city of Tongren gained huge fame among many public universities in china. The university was established within the Tongren city, Guizhou Province, China. The university was initially found as Mingde Middle School in the year 1920. The school was run successfully till the year 1948. In the year 1952, the name of the school was changed to Tongren Middle School. The school had formed branches in the year 1952. The Tongren normal school along with the operating branches, Tongren ethinic minorities (formed in 1987), Primary education campus of Tongren’s teacher college (formed in the year 2002), Tongren’s Teacher in service association (formed in year 1983), all together were declared to form the Tongren University in the year 2006. On February 14th, 2006 the university was approved as a full-time common undergraduate university by the Ministry of Education, China. The university has got bachelors degrees & courses offering colleges and universities Qualifications by the year 2010.
The campus of Tongren university currently holds 12 apartments under its infrastructure. The university & the studies being carried on there deal majorly concerning literary, science and innovation techniques. To attain the dream of attaining a perfect infrastructure and to educate or groom the people, making them best adaptable to the rapid developing present world, the university has been depending on various interpersionality development sessions/speakers present globally. Till now, our university has had 35 majors to choose. Besides the university also has associations with few universities in and around china such as Jishou University, Guizhou university, Kai Li University, Guizhou Normal University, Peking University, Fudan University and Tianjin Foreign Studies University. The university is so far focusing on the transition from college-centered education to university centered one. There are also modern teaching methods, modern experimental facilities, including Networking, web services, Multimedia classrooms, microteaching classrooms, language labs, physics labs, biology labs and chemistry labs etc.
The total area that the university holds would be around 514,000 square meters, from which only the building area of 306,000 square meters. The university holds a total number of 771 faculty members among which, 448 are full time professors and 282 were teachers with senior titles. Among these 36 are professors and 62 external teachers involving 2 foreign teachers. Along with these 2 experts enjoy the government allowances for a tenure period and 4 experts remain charged under the local management control. Besides, the university is partially associated with 7 universities all around china. Internally the university was framed into 13 departments covering the aspects of management, education, biology & chemical studies, Chinese language & literature studies.
As it is a famous fact that the university is well known for its studies related to literature & fine arts, the students studying here posses a great skill among many fine arts. A Cultural Research Centre is established recently at Eastern Guizhou, i.e., Cultural Research Centre of Eastern Guizhou. A gallery for Calligraphic fine art is also established, The Calligraphy Gallery of Eastern Guizhou. Characteristic networking centres & painting training institiutes were also established. The university has been recognized many a times as the “National civilized Unit” by the National Civilization Office, and is also popularly noted as “The School of Civilization” by the People’s Government of Guizhou Province.
